அறி (aṟi) — noun
, கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், ய, v. a. To know, understand, comprehend, recognize, be acquainted with; have a carnal knowledge of, தெரிய. (c.) புத்தியறிந்தபெண். A marriageable girl. வல்லமையறிவோம். We will find out which is the most competent, (by way of bravado.) தன்னையறியுமறிவேயறிவாகும் பின்னையறிவது பேயறிவாமே. To know one's self is knowledge, other knowledge is inferior.
அறிகருவி — The organs of sense.
அறிகுறி — A sign, mark, token, symbol.
அறிஞன் — A man of knowledge, especially of divine things, அறிவுடையோன். 2. A poet, புலவன். 3. A sage, முனிவன். 4. Mercury the planet, புதன். 5. Buddha, புத்தன்.
அறிதுயில் — A kind of sleep or meditation, in which the person understands all that passes about him–an attribute supposed to belong to the gods and sages, especially to Vishnu.
அறிதுயிலமர்ந்தமூர்த்தி — Vishnu, திருமால்.
அறிமடம் — Indisposition to reduce to practice what is learned. 2. Inability to recall to memory, stupidity in learned persons from infatuation. 3. Feigned ignorance.
