அல்பொருள் — A rhetorical figure, as அவர்ணியம், which see.
அல்ல–அல–அல்–அன்று–அலது–அவையல–அவனல்ல — Plurals of the defective , of which and are singular. In common usage, a simple negative not, as , not those, , not he, (some other.) In this usage it is regularly used for all persons and genders and in both numbers. It is also used substantively in a negative sense, and added to nouns, pronouns and participles.
அல்லது — If not, the adversative conjunction. நீ அதனைத்தின்றாயோ அல்லதொருவனுக்குக்கொடுத்தாயோ? Hast thou eaten it, or given it away to some one else?
