பஞ்சு (pañcu) — noun
Cotton in general. See பஞ்சி, Sa Cloth சீலை The cotton shrub, பருத்தி, Gossypium herbaceum Down of the Illecebrum lanatum, பூனைபஞ்சு. (c.) பஞ்சும்நெருப்பும்போலே. As cotton and fire; to express the temptation from mingling of the sexes, &c பஞ்சணை — A cushion stuffed with cotton, பஞ்சுமெத்தை. 2. See பஞ்சு. பஞ்சிற்றுகள் — A small, lineal measure, தேர்த்துகள். பஞ்சிற்றொடர்–பஞ்சிற்றொடர்நுதி — The end of a cotton web next to the thread. See துய். பஞ்சினூல் — Cotton-thread. பஞ்சுகடைதல் — Tousing cotton with a turning stick in a pot. பஞ்சுகொட்ட — To beat cotton, by a machine like a bow-string.
