[prov.] A lattice, grate, கிராதி. அளியோடுமீவன். I will bestow (it) freely. ஆஅ வளியவலவன். Oh! the poor, forlorn crab
அளியன் — One who is kind and affectionate, கிருபையுள்ளவன். 2. A poor, mean, destitute person, ஏளியன்.

To be over-boiled as rice, become as pap, குழைய. அளிய இகழ்தலிற்கோறலினிது. It is better to suffer death than disgrace. சோறளிந்துபோயிற்று. The rice is over-boiled, or reduced to pap by over-boiling
அளிந்தபழம் — A fruit well ripened or over ripened.
