இயலுவமம் — A comparison of the properties of different things, பண்புவமை.
இயற்சீர் — The ஆசிரியவுரிச்சீர், verse–a metrical foot of four அசை. See சீர்.
இயற்சீர்வெண்டளை — Combination of two simple or ஆசிரியம் feet, or connection of an ஆசிரியம் foot, ending with a compound அசை, with another beginning with a simple one, or vice versa, மாமுன்னிரையும்விளமுன்னேருமொன்றிவருவது.
இயற்சொல் — A word in common use–in distinction from திரிசொல்–exclusively poetic usage–words understood both by the learned and unlearned.
