, கிறேன், தோன்றினேன், வேன், தோன்ற, v. n. [com. தோணு.] To appear, to seem, to spring, to come into existence, &c., as the eight meanings of தோற்று. (c.)
[in gram.] To be augmented by an added letter or a reduplication, ஏழுத்ததிகரிக்க. அவருக்குத்தோன்றவில்லை. He is insensible to an evil or calamity. ஏனக்குத்தோன்றாமற்போயிற்று. It did not occur to me. ஏனக்கொருசத்துருதோன்றினான். An enemy has risen against me. ஏனக்குத்தோன்றினதைச்சொன்னேன். I have given my opinion. ஒருவனுக்கெதிருத்தரந்தோன்றாமற்பண்ணுகிறான்.... தோன்றக்கொடுக்க — [vul. தோணக்கொடுக்க.] To give sufficiently, to give so as to show something.
தோன்றச்சொல்ல — To speak, &c., so as to be well understood.
தோன்றாஏழுவாய் — The nominative understood, or the nominative of an impersonal verb, மறைந்துநிற்குமெழுவாய்.
தோன்றாத்துணை — An unseen helper, பிறரறியாதுதவிசெய்வோன். 2. The deity as the unseen helper, கடவுள். 3. One helping. (p.)
தோன்றாமற்கொடுக்க — To give so as not to feel it. 2. To pay in unequal sums according to emergency or convenience. 3. To reward a kindness by little and little, without show or parade.
தோன்றாமற்பேச — To speak in dark sayings, with allusions or hidden sarcasms.
