As தீக்கணம்–Note. A three-fold class of elementary fire is given in சதுரகராதி
உயிரிலுள்ளதீ. principle of fire in the sentient soul, and animal body, being a source of warmth, and energy or principle of fire in the stomach, assisting digestion, causing appetite and hunger. It is seated in the peritoneum
சினத்திலெழுந்தீ, fiery principle developing itself in anger. Instead of the first, other authorities give காமத்தீ, the heat or fire of venereal appetite.–Note
A three-fold class of sacred fire, வேதாக்கினி, is also given
காருகபத்தியம், the sacrificial fire of the Brahmanical houesholder, received from his ancestors. and kept alive
தட்சிணாக்கினியம், a fire kindles from the standing fire on the southern side of the house, &c
ஆகவனீயம், consecrated fire, taken from the standing fire, for sacrificial purposes
தீக்கஞ்சி — A kind of camphor. See தீபக்கொடிச்சி.
தீக்கடன் — (sometimes தீக்கருமம்.) The duties of the son of heir to one deceased, such as cremation and other funeral rites performed with fire.
தீக்கடைகோல் — Sticks for producing fire by friction. See கடைகோல்.
தீக்கதிக்கும்பச்சை — A precious stone, as நாகப்பச்சை.
தீக்கதிர் — A smith's poker, உலையாணிக்கோல். (R.)
தீக்கரண்டி — A little cup or bowl for taking up fire, தீயெடுக்குங்கருவி.

தீக்குணம் — Evil disposition or practice; vice, evil, துர்க்குணம். Vices are of three classes, of மனம், வாக்கு, and காயம். 1. மனத்தீக்குணம், sins of the mind, as (a) கொலைநினைக்கை, murderous intention; (b) காமப்பற்று, libidinous desire; (c) ஆசை, avarice, ambition. 2. வாக்கின்தீக்குணம், sins of the mouth–as (a) பொய்சொல்லல், lying; (b) கோள்சொல்லல், tale-bearing; (c) கோபித்துச்சொல்லல், angry speaking; (d) பயனில்சொல்லல், trifling or vain discourse. 3. காயத்தீக்குணம், sins of the body–as (a) களவாடப்போதல், thievish practices; (b) வறிதேதொழில்செயல், idleness; (c) கொலை செயல், killing, murder.
தீக்குணர் — The vile, the wicked. 2. The base, the low, (p.)
தீக்குறி–தீச்சகுனம் — A bad sign, symptom or omen, துன்னிமித்தம்.
தீக்கோள் — A malignant planet, an evil portent, துர்க்கிரகம். See கோள்.
தீச்சொல்–தீமொழி — Slander, evil speaking, பழிச்சொல். (சது.) 2. Inauspicious or evil words; as curse, சாபம்.
