பரி (pari) — verbal noun
[a Sans, particle.] A sign of intenseness, ubiquity, the highest degree, &c. It is prefixed to Sanscrit but not to Tamil words, as in the following compounds. W. p. 507. PARI.
பரிகரி–க்கிறேன்–த்தேன்–ப்பேன்–க்க — To take away, do away, to remove, expel, dispel, cancel, நீக்க. 2. To remedy, to repair, counteract, மாற்ற. 3. To cure, heal, குணமாக்க. 4. To retract, recant; to amend or correct one's erroneous statements; to revoke, மறுக்க. 5. To expiate, atone for, நிவர்த்திசெய்ய. 6. [prov.] To nurse, to tend a sick person, a lying-in woman; [ex பரிகாரம்.]
பரிகரிப்பு — Removing, expelling, dispelling.
பரிகலம் — The brass plate or dish of a holy person, உண்கலம். 2. A host, an army, சேனை. 3. [prov.] Army of unseen demons, which is supposed to march through the country and inflict epidemics; also பரிவாரப்பேய். பரிகலமடிப்பாய். Thou shalt perish by the epidemical army; a curse.
பரிகலசேஷம் — The remains on the plate of a spiritual preceptor, Bourges.
பரிகாசம்–பரியாசம் — jest, joke, burlesque, as பகிடி. 2. Raillery, jeer, derision, ridicule, நிந்தனை. 3. Sport, play, விளையாட்டு; [ex ஹாசஆசம்.] For the compounds compare சக்கந்தம், கேலி. பரிகாசப்பேச்சு. Badinage. பரிகாசம்போலே. As a joke.
