Added to the positive, this word makes a comparative, as மந்ததரம், slower, from மந்தம் and தரம்; when doubled it expresses succession, generation, as தரம்தரமாய்வாழ்கின்றான், compounded with அதரம், it means, quality or rank, as தராதரம், which see. நான்அநேகதரம்சொன்னேன்.
